About Us

The Major Projects Facilitation Agency is an Australian Government initiative to provide a ‘single point of entry’ into the Australian Government for proponents of major project developments.

Proponents developing major projects in Australia need to comply with a complex variety of regulatory compliance and approval requirements. These requirements depend upon the nature of the project, and may require approvals across multiple levels of government.

The Agency is part of the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and has offices in Launceston, Tasmania, Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory and  in the Northern Territory in Darwin. Agency staff are also able to connect with project proponents through AusIndustry’s state and regional offices.

For further information on the full range of services offered by the Agency, refer to the Services pages on this site.
